This may just be a spit shine of groundbreaking games within the series but does this collection recapture the magic of this iconic JRPG? We find out in our review of the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix. However, looking outside the series, the games have similarities to games like Final Fantasy, Crisis Core and Ni No Kuni to name a few. So obviously it plays like any title within the Kingdom Hearts series. Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix is a collection of all the best titles within the series. So it was hardly surprising that ahead of the much anticipated sequel that was about twelve years in the making., Square Enix would release a game that will act as a collection of all their past works, readying the fan base for what was to come. Not to mention perhaps the most convoluted storyline in gaming history to boot. The series has went from strength to strength, from platform to platform and has managed to create one of the most unique JRPG games to ever grace the medium of gaming. If you already purchased one of the other games in the series, you automatically get a partial refund for the discount difference. How does Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix appear? Ever since the fateful day when a Square Enix developer bumped into a Disney executive in an elevator and inexplicably pitched the concept that would turn out to be Kingdom Hearts. Given that the game is all about Disney characters, it sounds like a pretty good deal to jump from playing alongside Woody and Buzz to go watch Toy Story. The Epic Games Store release of Kingdom Hearts III also comes with the Re: Mind DLC bundle, with Epic also offering 20% off on the other titles in the franchise. Also, those purchasing Kingdom Hearts III through the Epic Games Store will also receive a code for 3 months of Disney+ free. The game received favorable reviews upon release, with critics and gamers praising the size and scope of this entry as the biggest and most varied in the franchise. Sadly, there's no way to boil down the franchise's overly complicated narrative to a simple premise, but basically, you cross paths with characters and worlds from different Disney and Pixar titles, including Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Big Hero 6, and more.
